My review
My review
The leadership day was on the 12th of February for the whole day we were improving leadership and teamwork. My favourite part was the planking challenge mostly because I love to plank and stay fit but also because it improved communication skills even though we didn’t win we all had a wonderful experience.
What I learnt about myself as an individual is that I think I’m better of as a team player. It feels so good just when you have success in won thing on your own but for me it feels better as a team win.
How was your conference like and what was your favourite part?
The wild robot is my favourite book of the year the author is called Petter Brown. He hooks you in and once you start you can’t stop. I stayed up until 3 am reading this book to finish it. The robots name is rozum but we call her roz. She has an interesting personality and she learns to speak to animals. The genre was family and friendship but I think it was more adventure. The book ended with a cliff hanger so I wanted to read the next book called THE WILD ROBOT ESCAPES. I am not going to tell you about that one so you can read it yourself.
What’s your favourite book? Why
Halloween the scariest hours of your life.
Sweating on the neck like no before.
See the life flash before your eyes.
I told you, Halloween can be so much more.
Halloween
I celebrate Halloween but that’s not the only thing I celebrate here’s a list
This time I’m talking about Halloween my favourite.
I love Halloween so much that I pretty much pee my self the day before. On Halloween I usually plan my room 2 weeks before getting my costume ready and my room as scary as I can. Sometimes it gives my mum and dad a big fright. Even I get a fright sometimes. Now I’m going to have to explain Halloween to you because some of you don’t know what I’m talking about. Halloween is a one night holiday on October the 30th and everyone who celebrates Halloween dresses up in scary costumes and make their house as scary as possible then they all go up to houses and say “TRICK OR TREAT!”and then you get candy after doing a trick and my friends and me were very convincing with our trick. Then when you get back home you do nothing but eat you candy that you have and then you sleep.
What do you celebrate?
Toonallook was remarkable.
I had the best time of my life there. Here’s some highlights:
The shoe game.
The shoe game is where you put a 1.2 litre bottle in between a pair of shoes then make two teams give everyone a number out of 15 on each team and then call out one number then those two will come out and grab a shoe run back to the cushion sit on there tushy and throw the shoe in attempt to knock the bottle over. However you can throw the opponents shoe away but you can’t hold two shoes at once it’s hard to do that and the most important thing is not enough cheering and you team gives a point to the other team. The team with the most points wins.
A challenge at camp was just leaving home to go to camp and be away from my family for 4 nights that’s pretty courageous and takes a lot of resilience.
Here are some PLAs I used when kayaking I used Communication with my partner George.
One of my most memorable moments was the sunrise at 5 AM!! So early!
A friend that I made was George from when we were working together with kayaking.
How was your camp
Tis is the map of our diorama
This is my diorama tour
Hello everyone
Life in the 1850’s timeline was hard. Well that’s my opinion at least.
What I learnt in this unit about the gold rush:
Mining license
When you wanted to mine you had to have a miners license. The license was a tax that was super expensive back then in the 1850s. The license was 30 shillings a month which was in today’s money is 3 dollars. I’m not kidding ha to me that’s not a lot of money.
1850s businesses
There was quite a few businesses back then like the Criterion store, newspaper store, tin smith, candle shop, the grocery, the hotel, farms, miner. Yeah I could go on but the list goes for an hour yeah I checked that’s a lot of businesses.
The eureka stockade
This is the main historical event in the 1850s. The eureka stockade is the event that made history. When the miners made a fort and battled the authorities and the battle lasted about 15 minutes. Very short battle I know. Neither one won the battle. But, then the whole town backed the miners and the authorities were over run. So technically the miners won in the end.
Famous dates
1770, 1788, 1835, 1851, 1854, 1901
What else I learnt
Reading:
I learnt some new vocabulary throughout the unit.
For example how they say ‘twas instead of it was.
Writing:
I learnt a lot of new writing and a new style too.
Like the how to write with a nib and the style back then.
PLAs I used
I used collaboration when making my diorama because we had to work together to make it amazing.

What were your major highlights during this unit?
A major highlight this unit was building the diorama and coding the Sphero.
What advice might you give others or do differently next time?
Try to get creative.
Did you learn anything about yourself/others?
I learnt that Zoë is good at art and craft and I am good at coding.
Can you summarise your experience throughout this unit?
It has been a very very good, long, thrilling and exciting term. The experiences have been incredible and especially when we saw the real eureka flag on camp.
My favourite book in the shortlisted books was make believe because the book was amazing and it was absolutely filled with detailed information about illusions. A good information book always try to tell you everything they know about it. They also sometimes used detailed pictures and very good layout.
